Similar to neighboring Greenwich, Stamford is highly suburban, resulting in only 1.2 miles of the existing 7.8 miles currently located on off-road trail. An opportunity exists for a natural footpath along the Merritt Parkway through the town. Currently, most of the 1.2 miles of existing, off-road trail are within Mianus River Park, which straddles the border with Greenwich.
