New Canaan

New Canaan's section of the Atlantic Circuit Trail largely parallels the Merritt Parkway, and as such is never far from the sounds of the highway. The Atlantic Circuit Trail passes through Waveny Park along the way, offering a pleasant, wooded experience for trail users. Currently, only 1.2 miles of the trail through New Canaan are off-road, however, a future footpath along the Merritt Parkway is planned.
