Delano Memorial Forest/Leonard Pond Recreation Area Connector

In November 2023, roughly 600 feet of the future Atlantic Circuit Trail in Rochester was flagged, with help from the Town of Rochester Conservation Commission. Part of a connection between Leonard Pond Recreation Area along the east side of the Sippican River and Delano Memorial Forest, this initial roughly 600-foot stretch mostly follows an old deer trail along the edge of wetlands. A potential primitive campsite was scouted and flagged as well. The flagging currently terminates at the proposed primitive campsite.

An additional approximately 30-50 feet of the future connector trail was scouted on the Delano Memorial Forest side between the existing loop and the riverbank through a wooded valley, with assistance from Wildlands Trust.
