Westport

Westport's segment of the Atlantic Circuit Trail is currently completely on-road, traveling along road shoulders beside passing vehicles. The Merritt Parkway right-of-way offers potential for a future off-road footpath; until then, long-distance users travelling on to Fairfield must travel alongside and cross unavoidable busy and potentially dangerous roadways. Novice trail users are advised to be cautious when traversing this section.
